چکیده
Background Opioid-induced respiratory compromise remains a significant challenge in etorphine-immobilised wildlife. Serotonergic agonists offer potential avenue for preventing or treating opioid-induced compromise. We therefore aimed to determine whether the selective 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 4 (5-HT4) agonist, BIMU-8, reverses goats. Methods Seven healthy adult goats were immobilised with etorphine, then treated BIMU-8 sterile water 5 minutes later randomised, prospective cross-over study. Cardiorespiratory variables measured at 1-minute intervals from before etorphine 15 after its administration. Arterial blood gas analyses also performed and administration respective treatments. Results Intravenous injection of attenuated etorphine-induced compromise, as indicated by improvements, compared baseline between treatments, rate (ƒR ), peripheral arterial oxygen saturation (SpO2 partial pressure (PaO2 ) alveolar-arterial gradient (P(A-a)O2 ). caused an increase heart temporary decrease pressure. Mild movements slight muscle spasm occurred but did not reverse immobilisation. Conclusion Our results indicate that may be drug candidate treatment, prevention, ungulates.

Investigation of the primary cause of hypoadrenocorticism in South African angora goats (Capra aegagrus): a comparison with Boer goats (Capra hircus) and Merino sheep (Ovis aries).
Our objective was to identify the primary site of the reduced adrenal function in South African Angora goats (Capra aegagrus) that causes a decrease in cortisol production and leads to severe losses of Angora goats during cold spells. Angora goats, Boer goats (Capra hircus), and Merino sheep (Ovis aries) were assigned to three intravenous treatments: 1) insulin, 2) corticotropin-releasing facto...

The absence of detectable fetal microchimerism in nontransgenic goats (Capra aegagrus hircus) bearing transgenic offspring.
Regulations for the disposal of genetically engineered animals are strict due to concern for their inappropriate introduction into the food chain, and of the possible public health and environmental impacts of these organisms. Nontransgenic animals that give birth to transgenic offspring are treated as if they are transgenic due to concern of fetal cells crossing the placental barrier and resid...
متن کاملDetection of Anaplasma sp. in Korean Native Goats (Capra aegagrus hircus) on Jeju Island, Korea
Anaplasma species are obligate intracellular pathogens that can cause tick-borne diseases in mammalian hosts. To date, very few studies of their occurrence in Korean native goats (Capra aegagrus hircus) have been reported. In the present study, we investigated Anaplasma infection of Korean native goats on Jeju Island, Republic of Korea, and performed phylogenetic analysis based on the 16S rRNA ...

testing plays a vital role in any language teaching program. it allows teachers and stakeholders, including program administrators, parents, admissions officers and prospective employers to be assured that the learners are progressing according to an accepted standard (douglas, 2010). the problems currently facing language testers have both practical and theoretical implications but the first i...
